02/09 All Manta Ray Practices for today are CANCELLED. However, if you would like to swim on your own, the Mason Community Center is open (6:15pm -9:00pm depending on guard availability). If you are a high school swimmer, swimming in Sectionals this weekend, you can swim at 3:00 pm. Please use your best judgment when deciding to attend.

11/12 ATTENTION ALL FALL INVITATIONAL VOLUNTEERS - Please take a few minutes to do the following:

(1) Go to the sign up sheet and review what positions you have volunteered for.

(2) Review the Volunteer Arrival Times document on the volunteer page. For the Friday session: timers, warm-up marshal, heat sheet sales, databoard and computer need to report at 2:45pm for the 1650 Freestyle session.

(3) Sign in when reporting for your position (this is how you get credit for your hours).

(4) Be on time.

(5) If you are not sure exactly what your position's responsibilities are please review the Volunteer Positions Descriptions document on the volunteer page.

10/25 MASON FALL INVITATIONAL - A FRI PM Databoard Runner position has become available and we are still in need of an Announcer for the SUN PM session.

10/23 We have been notified by Sycamore that the ventilation system at the pool is having some issues and it has been fairly hot on deck. It seems to be swinging with the outside temperature. The warmer it is outside, the warmer it is inside and vice versa. Fortunately, it is suppose to be cooler this weekend so that should help. Please dress appropriately. The commons and the hallways where the kids and families usually camp out have been fine, so you will still want to have some warm clothes to wear when haning out in those areas.

10/20 NEEDED EXPERIENCED DATABOARD VOLUNTEERS - If you have been trained on the databoard please consider volunteering for the Mason Fall Invitational. Experienced volunteers are needed for the FRI PM, SAT PM and SUN PM sessions. See volunteer sign-ups under the Parents tab.

10/14 Mark the date! White and Green Group Halloween Party will be during practice on Oct. 31st. from 11:30-1:30. Bring your suits! We will have a fun swim practice then paint pumpkins and create a snack. The cost for the party is $5 per swimmer. Please place party money in the Geringer family folder. MONDAY, OCTOBER 5 AT THE MUNICIPAL CENTER - Over the past few months the City of Mason has been working with the firm Counsilman-Hunsaker to conduct a feasibility study to look at the possibility of building a 50-meter pool in Mason. Representatives from the firm will be here to discuss the findings of this study on Monday, October 5 at 6:00pm in the Municipal Center (across from the Community Center). The meeting is open to anyone interested.

10/02 REMINDER - Order forms for the pizza party after the Inter-squad Meet are due on Saturday, October 3 to the Carter mailbox. Payment is due with the order form. 9/30 CONGRATULATIONS - The Mason Manta Rays swim team is proud to announce that the team has eight Scholastic All-Americans. Danielle Barbiea, Kellie Barbiea, Cari Caprio, Danielle Jansen, Maegen Krugler, Kayla Wiemers, Stephen Koch, and Jared Kolwyck all earned this prestigious award. 9/30 The purpose of this notice is to inform you of important rule changes relating to swimsuits worn in all USA Swimming sanctioned and approved competition, or in any observed swim. These new rules, which are effective October 1, 2009, significantly change the type of swimsuits which may be worn in competition. Click here to read the "Letter to Members" put out by USA Swimming. 9/25 REMINDER - The parents' meetings for the Blue and Green groups are tonight. The Blue group will be held from 6:00-6:30pm and the Green group from 6:50-7:15pm. The meeting location for both groups has changed to Mason HS Room D203. You can enter through the natatorium entrance, use the staircase on the left once you enter the commons area. This room is located on the second floor and it overlooks the commons area. There will be signage to help guide you to the room.

This meeting is primarily for new swim parents, but feel free to attend to get refreshed or to ask questions. The Kast-A-Way Team Suit Fitting and the Manta Ray Gear Sales will also be held in the commons from 4:30-7:00pm. Dress for a warm room. The HS will have the A/C turned off for cost savings.
