Ohio families, coaches, and team reps,

You can obtain basic information about this year’s Central Zone Championships held on Aug 6-9 at the newly renovated 10-lane facility in Noblesville, IN.  Ohio Swimming representatives just returned from a site survey of the area, surrounding park, and Ohio lodging.  Venues and accommodations for this meet is top-shelf all the way.  The pool is an outdoor facility, possibly the nicest outdoor aquatic center in the Midwest.

Team Ohio Hotel information, daily schedules, and order of events are ready for you to view.  Soon, we will have information on how athletes and families can enter this meet.  Families register for this meet on their own – unless your club makes other arrangements to enter you.   Several coaches and chaperones from throughout Ohio will be on board to make this trip fun, safe, and a wonderful experience if you plan to attend.  The requirement to enter this meet is achieving a National AAA in a pool event in either 25-yards or 50-meters for your age group based on your age on the first day of competition – which is Friday Aug 7^th.  The deadline to enter the meet and represent TEAM OHIO is tentatively set for Wednesday July 22^nd.  Travel arrangements and transportation on full-sized custom buses through Buckeye Charters will be available for athletes that plan to travel with the team.

The Central Zone Championships is an All-Star “Zone” meet where athletes represent their swimming Chapter and compete as one team against other teams (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, etc).  Club attire, caps, and team uniforms are not permitted at this event.  You have the option of purchasing the Ohio Zone team equipment package which is once again priced nearly “at cost” due to sponsorships.  This year’s basic package will include a suit, 4 custom TEAM OHIO shirts, and custom All Star cap.  Other optional items will be available.

The Ohio “home base” will be the very nice hotel Fishers Conference Center complex – a 4-hotel complex right off I-69 conveniently located just south of the pool.  Thursday’s events include: registration equipment hand-out, team practice, team pictures, and a must-attend Social for all Ohio athletes and parents at the Fishers Conference Center complete with meet-and-greet, pasta meal and banquet-style format.
